What's NewsFantastic response to rounds one and twoEntries for the first two rounds have been simply wonderful. As in round 1, the second round brought in streams of enthralling images and round 3 is now in full swing! Fortunately, you have more time to get those special captured experiences to us, as we have extended the deadlines for the last two rounds (details are in the right-hand column). Thank you, to all who have already entered and to those who have been considering it . . . don’t procrastinate any longer. Grab your gear, get out there and get snapping! Not only do you get to enjoy the natural diversity of our spectacular country; but ,hopefully you’ll also walk away with one of our fantastic prizes and be published in what promises to be a spectacular coffee-table book. Need inspiration? Have a look at all the winning photos from round one and round two. The winners of round three will be published, right here on the Captured Experiences web site on 19 October 2010. |

Want more statistical chance of winning?Looking over the entries and the statistics of the First Round shows where the main concentration of entries are. Not surprisingly more than 60% of the entries were for the ever popular Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and the most popular categories were landscapes, animal life and birdlife (between the 3 categories they also covered approximately 60% of entries). The two Parks with the least entries have been Tankwa Karoo and Mokala and the less popular categories have been Macro and Sequences. It therefore stands to reason that entries in the lesser known Parks such as Mokala, Tankwa Karoo and to a lesser extent Namakwa and Richtersveld stand more chance of winning their respective ‘special prizes’. Out of the ten categories you’ll have less competition in Macro, Sequences, People in the Parks and Creative Mood. |

Up to 240 photos over the 4 roundsYou can enter up to 6 photographs, per category, per round. With ten categories, this means you can enter up to 60 photos per round! Over the 4 rounds, that adds up to a potential of 240 photos per entrant. What we really would like, however, is that you don’t send in 240 images from just one Park, but selections from as many of the 6 Parks as you have visited. This will not only give you more chance to win a ‘special prize’ (for more information see article below), but also to discover how diverse the six Parks are. |

Special Prizes entering images from multiple Parks Besides potentially winning one of the 10 main prizes in the category section all entries will automatically be eligible for special prizes for the best overall photographs in the individual Parks. In other words we will be rewarding:
On top of that we will be giving a special prize for the entrant who has sent in the best collection of images for 4 or more Parks. They may come from one or all four rounds. More information can be found on the Prizes page, also see Competition Rules. |
